A man was beaten unconscious in a brazen Mission district robbery early Wednesday morning, police said. The 46-year-old victim was walking near 22nd and Mission streets at about 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday when five hooligans attacked him, police said. The victim was hit numerous times in the head until he was knocked out. After the assault, the crooks stole the man's wallet and cellphone and fled, police said. Mission man trying to chill out in the park attacked ‘for no reason’

Hanging out in the Mission is no picnic in the park, as one San Francisco man learned last night. A 48-year-old man told police he was sitting in Jose Coronado Playground at 21st and Folsom streets just before 7 p.m. when a man he did not know walked up and began punching him “for no reason.” The suspect, described as a man in his early 20s, bolted west on 21st and then south on Shotwell Street, police said. Yvonne Barillas, S.F. woman, stabbed to death

San Francisco police are investigating a homicide after finding a woman stabbed to death inside her home near 16th and Mission streets. Officers responded to the home in the 2000 block of Mission Street on Friday on a report of a body. The Medical Examiner later found that the 59-year-old Yvonne Barillas had been stabbed.
