Brave clerk scares off armed thug

A courageous corner store clerk in the Mission District called a gun-toting thug’s bluff Wednesday and thwarted the robbery, police said. About 6:30 p.m., a thug reportedly walked into the liquor store in the 3000 block of 26th Street while the clerk was restocking shelves. He pulled out a gun and demanded cash, police said, but instead of complying the clerk, a 47-year-old man, began hollering at the goon to leave his store. Read More

A man miraculously survived a shooting in the Mission district on Friday after the bullet grazed his cheek, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.The 27-year-old victim was walking in the area of 22nd and Bartlet streets at about 6:18 p.m. when he encountered an acquaintance, Shyy said. Feds move to seize SF pot club building

The U.S. Department of Justice is moving to seize a Mission district building that houses a city-licensed medical marijuana dispensary — the first time such an action has been taken in San Francisco. Melinda Haag, the U.S. attorney for Northern California, filed a forfeiture proceeding May 6 against 2441 Mission St., a commercial building between 20th and 21st streets where Shambhala Healing Center has operated on and off since early 2011. Mission shooting leads to highway chase

Three suspects fleeing police after a shooting in the Mission district early Thursday made it all the way to the Candlestick Park exit before their car crashed, police said, but one of them managed to escape. Police were reportedly nearby when gunfire erupted at Mission and 19th streets at about 2 a.m. Officers even saw shots coming from a vehicle, police said. Read More
