A woman reportedly fell to her death from fire escape in Outer Richmond
A 96-year-old woman apparently fell to her death from a fire escape at a home in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco on Wednesday morning.Two neighbors called police at 3:15 a.m. to a home in the 4700 block of Balboa Street, about two blocks away from Ocean Beach. San Francisco Police Department officers found Francis Rule lying on the ground.The fire escape was not broken and the fall did not look suspicious, according to police. Read More

Biologists have narrowed down the species of a whale that washed ashore Ocean Beach to two possibilities and said it was probably struck by a vessel before it hit sand. The 50-foot carcass that was found around 7 a.m. Monday between Kirkham and Lawton avenues was that of either a fin or sei whale, both of which are endangered.
