A 96-year-old woman apparently fell to her death from a fire escape at a home in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco on Wednesday morning.Two neighbors called police at 3:15 a.m. to a home in the 4700 block of Balboa Street, about two blocks away from Ocean Beach. The 50-foot carcass that was found around 7 a.m. Monday between Kirkham and Lawton avenues was that of either a fin or sei whale, both of which are endangered.
