The Library Commission meets Thursday to discuss what every city department has on its mind these days: budget cuts.
Mayor Gavin Newsom has asked each department to come up with $45 million in cuts to solve the current year budget deficit problem, which could become worse with the expected announcement of state cuts on Friday.
For the Library, the mid- year cuts mean losing a total of $2.1 million.
