Police arrested a man suspected of multiple burglaries in Potrero Hill on Friday after he unknowingly opened and closed a garage door while police were investigating the scene, police said. San Francisco reveals streets where overnight RV parking will be prohibited

San Francisco cop shoots hammer-wielding man dead

A week after the Police Department abandoned another attempt to provide stun guns for some officers, a cop reportedly shot and killed a hammer-wielding man Wednesday night who had stabbed his brother-in-law. Officers responded to a vicious family dispute in the 900 block of De Haro Street at about 9:40 p.m. after the suspect, 60-year-old Dale Wilkerson, dialed 911 to report that he had just done the stabbing. 14-year-old reportedly brings gun to San Francisco school

Correction: An earlier police report stated the suspect is 12 years old, when in fact he is 14. A Potrero Hill school was briefly locked down Tuesday following a report that an eighth-grader had a gun on campus, police said. A staffer at International Studies Academy at 655 De Haro St. called police about 11:15 a.m. to report that a 14-year-old boy had brought a gun onto campus, although it was not clear if anyone had seen the weapon. Potrero Hill party puncher gets bounced

Insulting the bouncer is no longer the worst way to get into a party. A 37-year-old man punched a cop while trying to return to a hopping party in Potero Hill on Thursday night, according to police. Officers were trying to break up the rowdy fiesta near 25th and Connecticut streets when the suspect landed his punch at about 11:15 p.m., police said. A 21-year-old man was seriously wounded by a gunman in a Mercedes-Benz in Potrero Hill on Monday morning, police said. The shooting was reported at 8:37 a.m. in the first block of Dakota Street.
