Why: The 23-year-old victim was in the back seat of a car that was dropping someone off on Watchman Way early Sunday morning when he was shot. The man died Tuesday morning at a hospital. Two people were injured in separate shootings early Sunday in North Beach and Potrero Hill, police said. The first incident occurred at 2:18 a.m. at Montgomery and Vallejo streets near Broadway. According to police, two groups of people shot at each other for unknown reasons. A man was hit in the leg, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. A woman was attacked in an apparent hate crime on a Muni bus in the Potrero Hill neighborhood Tuesday, police said. Police arrived about 1:50 p.m. and found the 26-year-old victim visibly upset and shaken. She told police she was just sitting on the bus when a woman who was standing over her suddenly began punching her in the face. A man stabbed in the chest after intervening in a domestic spat in the Western Addition Thursday took Muni across town to the hospital, police said. The 60-year-old victim was apparently attacked in the 1500 block of Steiner Street around 3 p.m. The victim told police he saw a domestic dispute between the suspect, a man in his 30s, and an unknown person. Cops foiled a burglary and arrested three teenagers attempting to steal computers from a Potrero Hill high school Sunday, police said. A witness tipped police off to the crime, police said. The 911 caller told police that he saw the three teens gain access to the International Studies Academy at 655 De Haro Street through an open window by climbing on a chair, police said. Read More

Woman robbed at gunpoint in Potrero Hill

A woman was robbed of her cellphone at gunpoint in Potrero Hill on Wednesday, police said. The 48-year-old victim was walking in the 900 block of Hampshire Street when she was flanked by two male suspects, cops said. One of the crooks was a teenager and the other’s age was unknown. The teenaged crook pointed a handgun at the victim and she dropped her cellphone to the ground, police said. The crooks snatched the cellphone and fled on foot. Read More
