Two injured in early-morning Oakland shooting

A shooting in Oakland left two people injured early Sunday morning, police said. Officers responded to the 8400 block of Enterprise Way at 3:36 a.m. and found one male suffering from a gunshot wound, Officer John Low said. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance. A second victim self-transported to a hospital, Low said. No additional information was immediately available. Read More

Antioch father arrested on suspicion of beating infant son to death

A 2-month-old Antioch boy who was severely beaten Tuesday evening has been declared brain dead and was taken off life-support Wednesday night, Antioch police Sgt. Diane Aguinaga said Thursday.Police received a call from Sutter Delta Medical Center shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday reporting that an infant was suffering from major injuries believed to be the result of child abuse, Aguinaga said. Man killed when he reportedly jumped in front of AC Transit bus

A pedestrian was killed in Oakland tonight when he apparently jumped in front of an AC Transit bus, an agency spokesman said.Witnesses said the man intentionally leaped in front of the bus at about 6 p.m. in the 3600 block of Grand Avenue, near Mandana Boulevard, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said."It's very tragic, obviously," he said.Several passengers were on board at the time, but no other injuries were reported, Johnson said.   Read More

San Francisco jurors deliberated for little more than two days before convicting an Oakland man Monday of first-degree murder for the 2003 slaying of a Tenderloin man.
