A man was attacked in his own apartment in the South of Market area Tuesday, police said. The 52-year-old victim was watching TV in his apartment in the unit block of 12th Street about 10:50 p.m. when a man in his 30s kicked open his front door, police said. The creep brandished a knife and cut the victim several times before fleeing on foot, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

Belmont police are still trying to identify a man who entered a woman's on-campus Notre Dame de Namur University apartment while she slept on Aug. 13
The woman awoke that Wednesday morning around 1:45 a.m. to find a man in his 20s in her studio apartment, police Capt. Dan DeSmidt said.
The man fled after the woman woke up, and she immediately called the campus Department of Public Safety, which notified Belmont police.
