Summer has finally come to San Francisco.
According to the National Weather Service, the fog that has blanketed The City for the past few months will remain off the coast for the rest of the week, which means blue skies and higher temperatures.
“It’ll be around for a little while,” forecaster Diana Henderson said. “It’s going to be sunny for the week before it tapers off.”

The heat wave that has hit the Bay Area is making traveling uncomfortable on some BART cars this week.
With blistering temperatures into the mid-90s today, about one-third of the BART's 669-car fleet could get unusually hot, spokeswoman Luna Salaver said.
"One third of the cars tend to have air conditioning issues when ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees," she said.

After last week’s heat wave that wasn’t, San Francisco residents hoping for a few more warm days may be disappointed with this week’s forecast.
The National Weather Service is forecasting cool, seasonal weather in the low to mid-60s.
“It should be cooling off here in the next few days,” the National Weather Service’s Diana Henderson said. “We’re heading into fall now.”
