Employees at San Francisco General Hospital were ordered to shelter in place for nearly an hour this afternoon because of a report of a gunman near the hospital, police and hospital officials said. Officers were trying to break up the rowdy fiesta near 25th and Connecticut streets when the suspect landed his punch at about 11:15 p.m., police said. Fleeing BMW leads to officer-involved shooting in San Francisco’s Hunters Point

Police shot an 18-year-old man in Hunters Point Tuesday after the teenager allegedly knocked an officer down while fleeing in a stolen BMW. The suspect is expected to survive the shooting in George Court, the cul-de-sac where he found himself trapped by police at about 7 p.m. Earlier, according to police, four officers who were patrolling the housing development spotted a BMW they believed had been recently carjacked. Police are hunting for the heartless thug who dragged a sleeping homeless man into the street, bashed his head on the concrete and robbed him in Fisherman’s Wharf early Sunday.
