A man was pummeled with a skateboard and stabbed in the back while trying to run from two thugs in the Mid-Market area early Thursday, police said.The 31-year-old victim had an argument with the men in the 1200 block of Market Street around 12:50 a.m. and attempted to flee. A bicyclist was critically injured when he was struck by a taxicab that ran a red light in San Francisco's Mission District early Sunday, a police spokesman said. The accident was reported at 1:59 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Guerrero streets. A 50-year-old San Bruno woman was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in South San Francisco when she lost control of her car and crashed into a tree, police said. The woman was driving east on South Spruce Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, she drove onto the sidewalk and struck the tree, according to police. A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash near San Francisco’s Broadway Tunnel on Thursday evening, police said.The crash was reported at about 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Powell Street.The 56-year-old woman was driving a vehicle east in the tunnel when the car’s front left tire came loose, according to police.The woman lost control of the vehicle, which struck two parked cars just outside of the tunnel, police said.
