Yazmani Ramirez, 28, is accused of using a pocketknife to stab a 24-year-old man who reportedly disrespected his wife at the Highland Community Club.
Police responded to the fight call around 10:20 p.m. and learned the victim had already been transported to the hospital. Ramirez was detained at the scene and was in possession of the pocketknife, police said.

A woman was assaulted during a cellphone robbery in the Ingleside district Tuesday, police said.
The 23-year-old was near Harold and Bruce avenues about 10:15 p.m. when two young hoodlums snuck up behind her and grabbed the phone from her hands. She struggled with the pair, but was overpowered and knocked to the ground.
The two suspects reportedly fled in a gray SUV south on Harold Avenue.

Redwood City police said they are investigating a burglary and dognapping that happened sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Monday at a house in the 200 block of West Oakwood Boulevard.
The crooks stole electronics, jewelry and 11-month-old chocolate Labrador named Gus. Anyone with information on Gus’ whereabouts can call Detective Josh Chilton at (650) 780-7141. Gus was wearing a collar with identification and contact information at the time of his abduction, police said.

A suspected serial robber who had reportedly pointed a gun at a pregnant clerk’s stomach during one of five recent stickups in Redwood City engaged in a daylong standoff with police Thursday before surrendering about 6:30 p.m.
About 9 a.m., a SWAT team staked out a home on Williams Avenue in the unincorporated Redwood City town of North Fair Oaks. The lone suspect inside the home, 30-year-old Miguel Angel Caballero, refused to surrender, police said.
