Illness prompts Mo. district to cancel classes

An outbreak of flu-like symptoms has prompted a suburban Kansas City school district to cancel classes in all 18 of its schools Monday. UofI Medical Center nurses approve new contract

Nurses at University of Illinois Medical Center have voted to ratify a new three-year contract with the hospital. Nurses represented by the Illinois Nurses Association voted 490 to 68 in favor of the contract that takes effect immediately. Staff will get raises of up to 17.85 percent over the three-year agreement. They also have the potential to get $1,000 bonuses in the second and third years of the deal. Read More
