Seconds after Rickie Fowler made a 40-foot birdie putt on the 12th hole to pull within two shots of the lead, Woods posed over his 25-foot birdie putt until he swept the putter upward in his left hand and marched toward the cup as it dropped for a birdie.

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. — Rory McIlroy repelled an early onslaught by Ian Poulter before cruising to his second major title by a record eight shots at the PGA Championship on Sunday.
The 23-year-old McIlroy, who started the final round with a three-shot lead, needed only 23 putts as he carded a flawless 6-under-par 66 that gave him a 13-under total of 275 in the year’s last major.

Tiger Woods is not surprised he can return to the top of the world rankings by winning the British Open and is not feeling impatient because he has not won a major for four years, he said on Tuesday.
