San Francisco cops averted potential disaster Sunday when they reached into a passed-out driver’s car window in the middle of an intersection and put the vehicle’s gear into park.The police patrol car had pulled up behind the allegedly drunken man’s vehicle at Alemany Boulevard and Geneva Avenue around 1:20 a.m. The traffic light turned from red to green and then again to red, but the car ahead did not move, police said. A 17-year-old girl was struck on the forehead with the butt of a gun Thursday during a robbery in the Crocker Amazon neighborhood.
The suspect, also a teenager, grabbed cash from the girl’s hands in the 1500 block of Geneva Avenue around 10:30 p.m., police said. The woman was hit after she tried to wrestle the money back, they said.
The girl’s injury was not life threatening, according to police.

An elderly woman was killed Tuesday after an unlicensed driver struck her as she was crossing the street near the Cow Palace, police said.Maria Francisco, 82, of San Francisco, was pronounced dead at the scene after a black van plowed into her in the 1700 block of Geneva Avenue around 5 p.m., authorities said.She had been crossing the street in front of her home and was not in a marked crosswalk, police Lt.
