Thief sought after Japantown shooting

Police are searching for the person who robbed a man and then shot him several times Tuesday morning in The City’s Japantownneighborhood. The 31-year-old male victim had driven to a Burger King with his wife about 5:30 a.m. While his wife waited in the car, police said, the man walked to the restaurant near the intersection of Geary Boulevard and Laguna Street. Brutal thieves target victim in Russian Hill

A walk down the usually safe streets of Russian Hill on Monday night turned into a horrifying experience for a woman who was beaten and robbed.About 10:30 p.m., police said, a 27-year-old woman was walking near Larkin and Greenwich streets when a man attempted to blind her with pepper spray. When that did not work, the suspect reportedly punched the woman in the face and head. He stole her purse and fled in a waiting vehicle, possibly a tan-colored American model. Read More

Crooks collect calls — and phones

At least 14 thefts were reported in The City on Monday, the majority of which involved crooks going to extreme lengths to steal cellphones, police said. In one incident, two men broke into a 62-year-old man’s apartment and fled with only a cellphone. Other thefts involved a crook knocking a man unconscious in the 500 block of Market Street before taking his cellphone, and a robber holding up a bicyclist at gunpoint to snatch his mobile phone, police said. A 14-year-old was one of two young males who allegedly launched a terrifying surprise attack Monday on a 68-year-old man at his Daly City home. Police said the teens, ages 14 and 18, knocked the “slow-moving” senior down after he answered his door, tied him up with duct tape, and made off with loot and the man’s car. Robbery victim blasted by sugar, spice, pepper spray

A woman was pepper-sprayed and robbed in the Richmond district Monday, police said. The woman was walking home in the 3500 block of Anza Street about 1:30 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by two teenage girls who pepper-sprayed the victim, grabbed her purse and fled, police said. Armed fashionistas leave victim barefoot, bleeding A robbery in the Tenderloin early Monday morning left a 20-year-old man with no shoes and a bullet in his arm, police said. The victim was walking near Leavenworth and Turk streets about 5:30 a.m. when he was approached by two men, one of whom was carrying a gun. The suspects demanded the man’s shoes. Man shot in chest in attempted robbery

A man was shot in the chest in an attempted robbery early Wednesday in the Excelsior, police said. The victim, described by police as a man in his 50s, was waiting at a bus stop at Geneva Avenue and Alemany Boulevard about 4:15 a.m. when two men in their 20s held the man up at gunpoint, police said. In case being robbed was not shocking enough, a thief reportedly used a Taser on his victim during a Saturday night heist in the Outer Sunset district. The man told police he was walking home near Noriega Street and Great Highway when someone approached him about 9:30 p.m. The victim told cops he does not remember what happened next, but police believe he may have knocked his head after being zapped. An 11-year-old was robbed of his wheels at gunpoint and a 32-year-old man may not have known what hit him. Eddy and Divisadero streets 9:15 p.m. Saturday A 32-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in a liquor store, police said. The victim was harassed by two of three men in their 20s. He walked away and the third man punched him in the face. The victim blacked out, woke up in his bed and realized his wallet had been stolen. Read More
