Alleged South San Francisco hit-and-run leads to more charges for man

A driver accused of plowing a stolen vehicle into a pedestrian who was headed to a church Christmas event in South San Francisco on Dec. 19 pleaded not guilty to the charges earlier this week. Michael John Weiler, 27, who lives in his girlfriend’s South City home, had reportedly been driving a stolen truck when he struck and injured a man who had just gotten out of his car near All Souls Catholic Church on Walnut Avenue. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in a July robbery in the Western Addition neighborhood that was caught on surveillance video. The robbery was reported July 5 near Laguna and Cleary streets. Two suspects pistol-whipped and robbed a victim at gunpoint before fleeing in a newer-model silver Dodge Charger with a white rag behind the rear headrest, according to police. Read More

Cellphone thieves hold up and knock down woman

A woman was assaulted during a cellphone robbery in the Ingleside district Tuesday, police said. The 23-year-old was near Harold and Bruce avenues about 10:15 p.m. when two young hoodlums snuck up behind her and grabbed the phone from her hands. She struggled with the pair, but was overpowered and knocked to the ground. The two suspects reportedly fled in a gray SUV south on Harold Avenue. Read More

Burglars hit house, grab Labrador too

Redwood City police said they are investigating a burglary and dognapping that happened sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Monday at a house in the 200 block of West Oakwood Boulevard. The crooks stole electronics, jewelry and 11-month-old chocolate Labrador named Gus. Anyone with information on Gus’ whereabouts can call Detective Josh Chilton at (650) 780-7141. Gus was wearing a collar with identification and contact information at the time of his abduction, police said. Read More

Woman feeds the meter, then goon’s grubby mitts

A woman was shaken and stirred after being robbed at a parking meter in the 900 block of Larkin Street about 5:10 p.m. Monday. The 33-year-old victim was putting money into the meter when a man in his 40s grabbed her and began shaking her, police said. The hoodlum reached into her purse and stole her wallet. He ran away up the street, grabbed cash from the wallet and ditched it before jumping onto a Muni bus. Read More

Man loses cellphone, but just wants a date

He wants these lady robbers arrested — perhaps just so he can get another look at them. The victim of a cellphone theft in the Mission Terrace neighborhood last weekend told police that he was unable to resist “two very good looking” female crooks who had asked for directions, even though they were about to rob him. Woman’s midnight jog takes a scary detour

A woman who was jogging in Lower Nob Hill past midnight was attacked and robbed of her cellphone and identification card Tuesday, police said. The 21-year-old was not seriously injured during the robbery at Sutter and Jones streets. No arrests have been  reported. Read More

Woman assaulted while struggling against mugger

A 21-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed of her cellphone in the Tenderloin about 4:25 a.m. Wednesday while waiting for the bus at O’Farrell and Leavenworth streets, police said. The victim reportedly struggled with the crook to no avail, and the suspect fled. Read More

Larkin loo gaining seedy reputation after second robbery

This Tenderloin toilet is flush with seedy crimes. Twice in about two days, different men were reportedly robbed by a gaggle of thugs while inside the large public restroom at the corner of Larkin and Myrtle streets. The latest incident involved a 47-year-old Memphis, Tenn., man — possibly a tourist — who was lured into the free-of-charge bathroom by a prostitute about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Cellphone swipers on a roll ... literally

Three bus riders have been robbed in separate incidents since Friday, and police are still searching for the crooks. The first robbery occurred Friday evening at a bus stop in the 600 block of Stanyan Street. A 27-year-old man was sitting down when a goon approached him and asked for the time, police said. As the victim was telling him the time, the man pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s phone and wallet before fleeing. Read More
