Since 1969, visits to the Exploratorium — the hands-on museum of experience at the Palace of Fine Arts — have been a rite of passage for schoolchildren in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. The Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee supported on Wednesday a 66-year lease between the Port of San Francisco and the Exploratorium museum. The full board will vote on whether to approve the lead agreement and environmental review document on Nov. 3.
