Two men injured in shooting

Two men who appear to have shot each other have both been taken to San Francisco General Hospital, one with life-threatening wounds, police reported. At about 8:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots on Garlington Court, a residential street in the Bayview neighborhood near George Washington Carver Elementary School, according to police Sgt. A rowdy Tenderloin adult entertainment spot that has angered police and neighborhood residents for the violence and noise that has spilled out its front door could be shut down now that The City has asked for its closure. The Pink Diamonds nightclub at 220 Jones St. has long been targeted for closure by the City Attorney’s Office, but a homicide that police said happened in a line for the club may have been the final push to shutter the club. Suspect searched prior to shootings

A man police say was involved in the murder of two men in the Mission district Sunday afternoon had been searched and questioned by police just 10 minutes before the incident. Andres Siordia, 19, was charged Tuesday with murder and attempted murder for the shooting deaths of Francisco Cornejo, 26, and Francisco Pena, 41. Police looking into connections in three gang killings

A gang-related fistfight near a Mission District pizzeria erupted into gunfire Sunday afternoon, leaving two men dead and two others behind bars. The victims were identified by the medical examiner’s office Monday morning as Francisco Pena, 41, a resident of The City, and Francisco Cornejo, 26, whose address wasn’t known. Skyline shooting victim in jail on gang-related charges

A student at Skyline College in San Bruno who was shot on campus early this month is in jail this weekend for allegedly being a gang member with a gun and is scheduled to appear in San Mateo County Superior Court on Wednesday. Eric Douglas Brewer, 20, was shot once in the buttocks at about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2 in a campus parking lot. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and released within the week. Three killed, two injured in violent weekend

The slayings of three men during the weekend has put San Francisco on pace with last year’s murder toll. The weekend killings bring The City’s 2008 homicide tally to 81. Last year, San Francisco had  82 killings at this time and eventually reached a decade high of 98 homicides. Police ID woman fatally shot in Potrero Hill

A woman who was fatally shot in the Potrero Hill neighborhood Saturday night was identified Sunday by the chief investigator at the Medical Examiner's Office as 19-year-old San Francisco resident Caprisha Green. The shooting was reported in the 1000 block of Connecticut Street about 10:25 p.m., according to police. Read More
