Woman shot in Western Addition

A hail of bullets in the Western Addition injured a woman and entered a nearby apartment Wednesday night, police said. The 26-year-old victim was walking in the 1600 block of McAllister Street about 10:15 p.m.when she was struck in the torso by a bullet, police said. She did not see the shooter, but multiple witnesses heard the shots and saw a man fleeing in a black car westbound on McAllister toward Broderick Street, Officer Gordon Shyy said. Read More

Shooting victim identified as East Palo Alto boy, 15

A teenager who was shot and killed in East Palo Alto on Sunday night has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner’s office as 15-year-old Jose Quinonez. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 2800 block of Fordham Street at about 11 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found three teenage boys with gunshot wounds, police said. Quinonez, an East Palo Alto resident, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Read More

Victim fatally shot this afternoon in Bayview

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in San Francisco's Bayview District this afternoon. Officers responded at 3:43 p.m. to reports that a male victim had been shot in the 1100 block of Hudson Avenue, Officer Carlos Manfredi said. The officers performed CPR on the victim until medics arrived and transported him to San Francisco General Hospital. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, Manfredi said. A man miraculously survived a shooting in the Mission district on Friday after the bullet grazed his cheek, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.The 27-year-old victim was walking in the area of 22nd and Bartlet streets at about 6:18 p.m. when he encountered an acquaintance, Shyy said. A vehicle carrying three people, including a 71-year-old man, was hit by a bullet in the Sunnydale neighborhood on Tuesday, the second shooting in the area in as many days. The victims, two men ages 50 and 71 and a 36-year-old woman, were driving eastbound in the 100 block of Blythedale Avenue, near Santos Street, when they saw two men in their 20s running toward them at about 6:30 p.m., police said. Shooting victim not cooperating with cops

A 24-year-old man who was shot in the backyard of a Bayview residence Monday afternoon was not cooperating with investigators, police said Tuesday. The man reportedly suffered a bullet wound to the lower back on the first block of Latona Street, near Third Street, at about 2:50 p.m. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life threatening injuries, police said. 6 people shot in East Palo Alto

Six people were shot and injured about 2:45 p.m. Sunday near a McDonald’s on University Avenue in East Palo Alto, according to a fire official. Firefighters arriving on the scene reportedly found six people with gunshot wounds, four inside the restaurant and two outside, but it is unclear where they were shot. One person, a man in his 20s, received more serious injuries and was taken to Stanford Medical Center for treatment. Read More

A 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg early Tuesday while sitting in a car in the Bayview neighborhood, police said.The woman was in the passenger seat of the car at the intersection of  San Bruno Avenue and Dwight Street at about 1:10 a.m. when an unknown person approached the vehicle and opened fire, police said. Man shot on seedy Sixth Street

A man was shot in the arm on Sixth Street early this morning, police said. The 56-year-old told police he was sitting in front of a hotel in the 100 block of Sixth Street at about 2 a.m. when he heard a gunshot and felt the sting from the bullet. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, police said. No arrest has been reported. The victim said he didn’t know the shooter.
