Tough luck for alleged 'Rub Me' groper

A man accused of grabbing the buttocks of young girls at a Target store while wearing a T-shirt that read “Rub Me For Luck” asked a judge last week to throw out the charges, but was denied. On Tuesday, 50-year-old UPS deliveryman Glenn Albrecht, who has pleaded not guilty, will have to decide whether to face a jury trial or accept a plea bargain offered by prosecutors. A San Francisco woman who was reported missing in February was found dead in Pacifica last weekend, San Bruno police said Friday. Cecilia Zamora, 36, was reported missing to San Francisco police on Feb. 15. Relatives said she was possibly heading to her cousin's home in San Bruno after she had last been seen at a home in the 300 block of Colby Street in San Francisco on Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. She was last heard from on Feb. 12. Scoring a pack of smokes apparently isn’t easy for underage kids in northern San Mateo County cities.A law enforcement operation on Saturday had underage decoys try to buy tobacco at 161 businesses in Millbrae, San Bruno, South San Francisco and Daly City.Only 14 of the merchants received citations for selling to minors, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.Among the cited were two Walgreens stores in Millbrae. Japanese diplomat wasn't remorseful enough over wife-beating charges, judge says

The San Francisco-based Japanese diplomat who abused his wife might have received a lighter jail sentence if he showed even a little remorse, prosecutors said Tuesday. Yoshiaki Nagaya, 33, who lives in San Bruno and works at the Japanese consulate in downtown San Francisco, was sentenced Monday to the maximum one year in San Mateo County Jail after pleading no contest to two domestic violence charges in December. Caltrain tracks cleared and back in service after car struck in San Bruno

Caltrain tracks in San Bruno reopened shortly before 8 p.m. this evening after a train struck a car on the tracks, a Caltrain spokeswoman said. Northbound train number 381 struck a vehicle on the tracks at San Bruno Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. today, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said. Dunn said no one on board the train or in the car was injured. The blocked both tracks for over an hour until the tracks reopened at about 7:45 p.m., Dunn said. Read More
