Riding high on a seven-game win streak, Lowell the High School baseball team ran into a hot-hitting South San Francisco High School team, and couldn’t hold down the Warriors’ bats in a 10-1 nonleague loss Saturday at Orange Park.
The Warriors (9-9) collected 10 hits against four Lowell pitchers, including a 2-for-3, five-RBI performance from junior designated hitter Gregorio Jimenez, to continue a streak of four games where they’ve scored 10 runs or more.

For first-year coach Daryl Semien, the task is pretty straightforward: Getting the South San Francisco High School baseball team back to the upper echelon of the Peninsula Athletic League.
Getting the task completed won’t be so easy, but Semien thinks his Warriors may be up to the challenge.
“We definitely have some work to do, especially at the plate,” Semien said this past week. “We’re a little young, but we’re strong with pitching and defense.”
