Tourist sees swift retribution after being robbed

A tourist saw a side of San Francisco he would rather have skipped on Saturday.The visitor was robbed of cash at gunpoint at Grant Avenue and Pine Street around 4:42 a.m., police said.The tourist also saw The City’s police in action. After he called police, who broadcasted the crook’s description, there was a swift arrest in the downtown area. San Francisco Police Officers Association leadership vote heads to run-off

Long-time police union boss Gary Delagnes has some competition to hang on to his leadership post. The Police Officers Association members vote every three years on the president of the POA. The members voted this month between Jan. 10-21. Come Saturday, however, the results were not known.
