A UC San Francisco medical student was on life support Monday following a fight in a popular South of Market nightclub last weekend.Fourth-year medical student Joe Hernandez, 30, suffered head trauma during a wild night at Temple in which two fights broke out within 25 minutes, leaving four people injured. Nightclub fight victim on life support

Two fights at a South of Market district nightclub in about 20 minutes Sunday left one man in critical condition, police said.A 30-year-old man was on life support Monday after suffering head trauma when a fight broke out inside the Temple Nightclub at 540 Howard St. around 1:20 a.m., police said Monday. Man hospitalized, another arrested in SoMa stabbing

A man was stabbed outside a nightclub in San Francisco's South of Market district early this morning and another man has been arrested in the attack, a police spokesman said. The stabbing was reported at about 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth and Brannan streets, San Francisco police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said. Some sort of physical altercation occurred between two 25-year-old men outside a nearby nightclub, Dangerfield said. Read More

Nearly $2 million in developer fees was doled out Tuesday to a number of nonprofits for services in the South of Market neighborhood under a landmark deal negotiated by The City in 2005. Five years ago, Supervisor Chris Daly negotiated a development deal that, in exchange for allowing soaring towers to exceed height limits in SoMa, would have developers paying a special fee to go toward community services.
