The U.S. Department of Agriculture says a Louisiana-based meat packing company has expanded a recall of meat products because of possible bacterial contamination. No illnesses have been reported
The Manda Packing Company recall announced this past week now includes 468,000 pounds of roast beef, ham, turkey breast, tasso pork, ham shanks, hog headcheese, corned beef, and pastrami.

A floor collapsed into a V shape Friday at the construction site of a new casino, sending workers sliding to the ground and leaving at least a dozen with broken bones, bumps or bruises.
Authorities said there were no life-threatening injuries in the collapse at the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati site, which came just weeks after a similar accident at a Cleveland casino with the same developer.

It's unclear whether farmers in Georgia and Alabama will face a shortage of workers due to tough new laws targeting illegal immigration, but some producers said they have begun changing their plans for planting and harvesting this year's crops.
Some farmers said they might reduce the number of acres they plant or shift to less labor-intensive crops, while others are bracing for higher labor prices and have turned to new recruiting tools to attract workers.

Apple reacted to the outburst by postponing iPhone 4S sales in its mainland China stores to protect customers and employees. The phone still will be sold online and through its local carrier.

Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has been given a two-year contract extension through the 2014 season.
Selig has held the position since 1992, first as acting commissioner and then as commissioner since 1998. He will turn 80 in July 2014.
If he stays until September 2016, he would surpass Kenesaw Mountain Landis (1920-44) as the longest-serving baseball commissioner.
Selig's contract had been due to expire this Dec. 31.

Portugal's recession will deepen this year under the weight of austerity measures meant to reduce public debt, the bailed-out country's central bank predicted Tuesday.
Portugal is trying to free itself from a huge debt burden that forced it to ask for a €78 billion ($100 billion) financial rescue package last year to avoid bankruptcy.
