A truck hit a fire hydrant while parking in Redwood City on Wednesday afternoon, sending water dozens of feet in the air and into a nearby furniture store. The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at Broadway and Cassia streets. Firefighters quickly responded and shut off the water, soaking themselves in the process. Damage was reported at the Great Western Furniture store located at 1748 Broadway St., in front of the fire hydrant. Read More
