Driver splits after crashing silver pickup into Outer Mission home

Police are investigating a hit and run incident that occurred in the Outer Mission on Wednesday. About 7:40 p.m., police began receiving calls about a silver pickup truck that crashed into a house at Florentine and Morse streets. The pickup reportedly caused severe damage to the house before fleeing the scene, police said. The building was evacuated to ensure the safety of its residents. Read More

Woman shot in Western Addition

A hail of bullets in the Western Addition injured a woman and entered a nearby apartment Wednesday night, police said. The 26-year-old victim was walking in the 1600 block of McAllister Street about 10:15 p.m.when she was struck in the torso by a bullet, police said. She did not see the shooter, but multiple witnesses heard the shots and saw a man fleeing in a black car westbound on McAllister toward Broderick Street, Officer Gordon Shyy said. Read More

Garage-door opener leads to theft suspect

It was a real open-and-shut case. Police arrested a man suspected of multiple burglaries in Potrero Hill on Friday after he unknowingly opened and closed a garage door while police were investigating the scene, police said. Police responded to the 400 block of Connecticut Street about 3:40 a.m. after a resident called 911 about an unknown man walking out of a neighbor’s garage. Read More

Man fatally falls at Bay to Breakers party

A man has died after falling off a building during a Bay to Breakers party in San Francisco on Sunday. The 28-year-old man accidentally fell three stories from a building in the 2000 block of Fell Street along the Panhandle about 3:30 p.m., police said. Police say the man apparently fell from the roof onto the pavement. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Read More

A man miraculously survived a shooting in the Mission district on Friday after the bullet grazed his cheek, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.The 27-year-old victim was walking in the area of 22nd and Bartlet streets at about 6:18 p.m. when he encountered an acquaintance, Shyy said. The two started arguing for unknown reasons, and the so-called acquaintance pulled out a gun and fired. Read More
