Man accused of DUI after Mission cop car collision

A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the Mission district Monday after he collided head-on with a police cruiser, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. The 22-year-old suspect was driving at a high rate of speed westbound on 19th Street about 12:48 a.m. when he struck the cruiser near Mission Street. George Gerald Anderson, 50, of San Francisco, was arrested last weekend after reportedly claiming to be a parking lot attendant and charging a tourist to park in a lot at Bay and Kearny streets. Pair of bullies swipe victim’s food stamps at 16th and Mission streets

A 66-year-old man was punched in the face and robbed of his food-stamp card in the Mission district Monday, police said. The victim was sitting on a bench around 16th and Mission streets about 10:30 p.m. when a woman in her 30s tried to take his card from him, cops said. A struggle ensued and a man in his 30s jumped in and punched the victim in the face. The heartless crooks fled with the victim’s food-stamp card. No arrests have been made. Read More
