A heartless man was arrested on animal cruelty charges in the Bayview on Tuesday after police discovered the corpse of a dead pit bull puppy in the back seat of his car, police said.
About 5:40 p.m., police pulled the man over for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Cameron Way, not far from Candlestick Park. When officers engaged the driver, they noticed he had his seat reclined “about 40 degrees,” police said.

Police Chief Greg Suhr has zapped a pilot project that would have armed 5 percent of The City’s police force with stun guns, arguing that the plan suggested by community members was so restrictive that officers saw no point in carrying the devices.
