LeBron James and Dwyane Wade proved they were not yet ready to pass the torch to the next generation by leading the Miami Heat to a 100-96 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game Two of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
James scored 32 points and Wade added 24 as the veteran-laden Heat rebounded from Tuesday night’s lacklustre 105-94 setback to even the best-of-seven series at 1-1.

The kids were all right, it just took awhile to get their footing.
But with Russell Westbrook shaking off a rough start and Kevin Durant stepping up to his scoring-leader legacy, the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame an early 13-point deficit to eventually spring to a 105-94 victory Tuesday night over the Miami Heat at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The victory gives the Thunder a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven NBA Finals that continue Thursday on their home court.

Roy Hibbert scored eight of his 18 points in the fourth quarter playing with a broken nose, and five of his teammates also scored in double figures to help the Indiana Pacers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 98-96 on Sunday night.
Kobe Bryant scored 33 points for the Lakers, but missed what would have been a tying 3-pointer from 30 feet from the top of the key with 3.5 seconds to play and the Pacers clinched it at the free throw line.

Lakers forward Lamar Odom showed up more than 90 minutes late for Los Angeles' first workout of training camp on Friday, and then left early after a meeting with general manager Mitch Kupchak.
Odom apparently is still upset about the Lakers' aborted attempt to trade him in a megadeal for Chris Paul. He arrived and left without practicing or speaking to reporters on what's sure to be an awkward opening day of camp.

So the Celtics want to play rough again? Kobe Bryant and the Lakers look ready this time around, and they barged into an early lead in the NBA finals.
Bryant scored 30 points, Pau Gasol had 23 points and 14 rebounds, and defending champion Los Angeles got tough in a 102-89 victory over Boston in the NBA finals opener Thursday night.
