USF men's soccer jumps into poll at No. 12

The USF men's soccer team's big weekend in the Bay Area earned the Dons some national attention.

Following wins over No. 11 Cal at home Friday and Stanford in overtime on Sunday, USF is 11th in the Soccer America Top 25 poll. The Dons (4-1), who were not listed in any major preseason national poll, have won four straight since dropping their opener, scoring at least two goals in each of those victories.

USF finishes up nonconference play this week by hosting fifth-ranked UCLA on Thursday and New Mexico on Saturday in a rematch of last year's NCAA first-round game won 1-0 by the Lobos. Both matches start at 7 p.m. at Negoesco Stadium.
