Making his first appearance of the spring, Giants closer Brian Wilson didn’t seem to skip a beat.

The right-hander needed only nine pitches to complete a shutout inning Sunday as part of a 7-5 Giants win against the Seattle Mariners in Cactus League action.

Wilson, who was bothered by elbow issues at the end of the 2011 season, gave up one hit, but catcher Buster Posey helped him get out of the inning by finishing off a strike-’em out, throw-’em out double play.

“I don’t think it matters how many pitches I throw as long as they’re all executed and thrown with conviction,” Wilson told MLB.com.

Giants starter Eric Surkamp was efficient, allowing one run and three hits in three innings of work.

Catcher Hector Sanchez homered twice and knocked in three runs, and outfielder Melky Cabrera added two hits to boost his spring average to .542 for the Giants. Posey grounded out twice in two at-bats.

Tim Lincecum will look to shrug off a poor showing in his previous outing when he gets the start today for the Giants against the Kansas City Royals in Surprise, Ariz.
