After a strong Academic Athletic Association (AAA) season opener win against International Studies Academy on Wednesday, the Lowell girls’ basketball team (2-0) was able to stay undefeated in it’s early season with a 52-35 victory over the Galileo Lions on Friday.

At the end of the first quarter, Galileo led with a score of 11-4. Lowell rebounded and refocused and regained control by the midway through the third quarter.

The Cardinals dominated the Lions in the second half with sophomore guards, Angie Ng and Katarina Lum, scoring a game-high 11 points each while teammate sophomore center, Lorna Tu’ufuli, contributed 10 points.

Despite the loss to Lowell, Galileo put forward a strong effort, keeping pressure on the offense.

The Cardinals’ next AAA game will be on the road against Phillip Burton High School on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
