NEW ORLEANS — I have to admit, I probably can’t name three Beyoncé songs.

But despite that, I found myself compelled to mosey over to her pre-Super Bowl news conference Thursday after all the buzz about her inauguration performance. And I wasn’t disappointed.
The gathering itself was a spectacle, with the most media assembled in one room of any Super Bowl news conference outside of Media Day.
And the questions didn’t come from your traditional sports sources, but rather from the acronym world of TMZ, OMG, etc.
The ravishing Beyoncé didn’t waste any time addressing the elephant in the room, whether or not she lip-synced at the inauguration, as she came out and belted a riveting rendition of the national anthem, followed up quickly by: “any questions?”
It was a very polite dig at the critics. And it worked, at least for me.
In the end, we were all treated to a show. All that was missing was the popcorn.
