Niners’ Harbaugh headlines 2012 Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame class

49ers coach and Palo Alto High School alum Jim Harbaugh will be inducted into the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame on June 13.

The 49ers’ Jim Harbaugh, the NFL’s 2011 Coach of the Year, is one of 10 individuals who will be inducted into the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame on June 13.

The June banquet will be held at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo in conjunction with the San Mateo County Fair.

Tickets for the dinner, at $80 apiece, will go on sale in the spring.

Harbaugh, a Palo Alto High School alum, led the 49ers to a 13-3 record in his first year as an NFL head coach this past season.

He’ll be joined in the Hall of Fame by Chuck Bradley (Menlo-Atherton High School, football), Nancy Dinges (Hillsdale High School, basketball), Charles Lowery (Ravenswood High School, basketball), Katie May (Burlingame High School, multisport), Edwin Mulitalo (Jefferson High School, football), Paul Noce (Sequoia High School, baseball), Mark Reischling (Hillsdale High School, basketball), Erica Reynolds (Capuchino High School, softball) and Warren “Locomotive” Smith (Hoitt School, football and track and field).

The Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame is presented by the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau and The San Francisco Examiner.
