Stanford staked Florida State to six runs over the first two innings and never recovered as Florida State moved into the College World Series following an 18-7 rout on Sunday, finishing off a dominating sweep of the Cardinal.

In the two games, Florida State outscored Stanford 35-8 after winning Game 1 17-1 on Friday.

Brett Mooneyham could not get an out in the second, facing eight batters and allowing five runs on three hits. A two-run homer by Jayce Boyd in the first was followed by a three-run homer by Sherman Johnson off reliever A.J. Vanegas in the second to make it 6-0.

Stanford was able to pound out 18 hits in defeat, including a 4-for-5 game from Stephen Piscotty and a 3-for-5 effort from Austin Wilson.
