After clawing out of a big hole to give itself a chance to advance in the West Coast Conference tournament in Las Vegas, the USF women’s basketball team eventually ran out of gas in a 66-60 loss to Loyola Marymount on Wednesday.
USF trailed by as many as 17 points in the second half, but rallied to within a point after Jamie Katuna buried a 3-pointer with 1:42 left in the game to make it 59-58. But that’s as close as the Dons (5-25) would get the rest of the way.
Alicia Scafidi led USF with 12 points off the bench.
