WASHINGTON — Lasan Kromah scored 21 points and George Washington dominated Maryland-Baltimore County in a 94-51 win on Saturday.

Kromah, who made his first six 3-point attempts, scored 20 points in the first half for the Colonials (3-0), who shot 67.7 percent in the first half, including 9-for-13 from beyond the arc. Damian Hollis added 12 points.

George Washington used pressure defense, forcing four turnovers before the Retrievers (0-3) attempted a shot. The Colonials scored the first nine points of the game and closed the first half with a 33-15 run over the final 8:14 for a 59-28 halftime lead.

Shawn Grant scored 14 points for the Retrievers, who shot 30.6 (19-62) from the field in their first road game of the season.

Kromah, who also had four steals, did his first half damage in an efficient 10 minutes. In his first ever home game, the freshman hit his first seven shots overall, including three 3-pointers in a 1:48 span.

The Colonials finished with a 57-27 rebounding edge, led by 11 from David Pellom, and the 43-point margin of victory is the Colonials largest since defeating Dartmouth 94-49 in November 2006.

George Washington has won 21 consecutive home openers, dating back to the 1989-90 season, and have won two straight over UMBC.
