Sacramento State beats Northern Colorado, 38-35

GREELEY, COLO. — Jake Croxdale ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns and Sacramento State took a 31-0 halftime lead and held on for a 38-35 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw for 133 yards and a touchdown and Jeff Badger rushed for 75 yards and a score for the Hornets (4-6, 4-3 Big Sky), who won their second straight conference game.

Bryan Waggener and Andre Harris had two touchdown runs each for the Bears (3-7, 1-6), who scored 28-straight points in the second half to make it close.

Croxdale scored his first touchdown on a 4-yard run to make it 17-0 midway through the second quarter.

Two Northern Colorado turnovers in the final five minutes of the half led to Bethel-Thompson's 5-yard TD pass to Jon Krebs and Croxdale's 2-yard plunge with 31 seconds remaining before intermission.
