Surprise apperance: Bonds shows up at AT&T Park

In a surprising move, baseball home run king Barry Bonds joined three of his former Giants teammates from the 2002 season to throw out the first pitch of Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Tuesday.

A steady din in the stadium transformed to an overwhelming roar of applause as Giants fans cheered on the controversial former slugger, who ran out to the field waving his arms in an attempt to further pump up the crowd.

Although he made an appearance in April to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the 2000 Giants winning the NL West, Bonds has largely remained out of the spotlight during this year’s postseason run.
