A single-alarm fire broke out at a home in the Outer Sunset early Wednesday morning, the fire department said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze at 1418 42nd Avenue near Judah Street before it spread to two adjacent homes, fire spokesperson Mindy Talmadge said. An emergency call came in to the department at 6:20 a.m. and the fire was out by 6:53 a.m., she said.

The cause of the minor blaze is under investigation. No injuries were reported and Talmadge said it doesn’t seem as though anyone was displaced. The home was evacuated, however.

The fire traveled through a lightwell area and reached the attic at one point. “Crews had to do a lot of opening up the walls,” Talmadge said.

Damage estimates were not immediately available.
