Expect a Hollywood throwdown for the role of Ross William Ulbricht, the alleged Silk Road drug-trafficking kingpin who was arrested at a San Francisco library in 2013. Publisher Portfolio announced Monday that it's working on a “detailed narrative” of the Silk Road saga, and 20th Century Fox has already snapped up the film rights, according to The Associated Press.

Portfolio's book will be written by New York Times columnist Nick Bilton, who penned a best-seller about the rise of San Francisco-based startup Twitter in 2013 and has been investigating the illicit Silk Road online marketplace for Epic magazine.

San Francisco resident Ulbricht, who was 29 when FBI agents apprehended him at Glen Park library, is the subject of a federal trial in Manhattan, N.Y.

Feds say Silk Road reaped more than $1 billion in sales of drugs, guns and illicit services under Ulbricht's control. But getting Channing Tatum or Jake Gyllenhaal to play you on the big screen? Now that's priceless.
