Shots were fired at a Mission District gas station early Wednesday morning after a man told someone not to smoke a cigarette in the area, according to police.
The 20-year-old victim was standing outside the gas station at 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue around 4:30 a.m. when he told a person that he knew not to smoke a cigarette in the area.
Shortly after that conversation, a male suspect pulled into the gas station in a vehicle and fired a gun.
The suspect drove away and the victim was not injured.
No arrest had been reported in the case as of Wednesday morning, police said.
