San Francisco State University is investigating an assault on a teen earlier this week in which one teen was allegedly found by authorities physically attacking and choking the victim in a dorm room.

University police were alerted to a male subject screaming for help and a loud disturbance at about 4:13 p.m. Tuesday in a room on the sixth floor of 800 Font Blvd., said Elizabeth Smith, an SFSU spokesperson.

Officers forced their way into the room where they found 18-year-old Samuel Splinter attacking and choking the 19-year-old victim, Smith said.

Splinter was taken into custody and booked at San Francisco County Jail. The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where he underwent surgery and continues to recover.

Authorities said no motive has been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
