San Francisco police are investigating the second shooting to occur in the same block in the Tenderloin neighborhood in less than 48 hours.
The most recent shooting occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Eddy Street near Mason Street. The victim, a 58-year-old woman, was outside when she was shot by a male suspect.
She was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds but is expected to survive, police said.
A 37-year-old man was shot in the same area around 1:21 a.m. Tuesday and is also expected to survive, police said.
No arrest has been reported in either shooting, which both apparently involved suspects unknown to their victims.
Police said Wednesday the two shootings appear to be unrelated, and indicated that Tenderloin officers will focus resources on that block of Eddy Street in response to the shootings.
