SF students to march in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hundreds of San Francisco students will hit the streets Friday, in commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event is official and sanctioned by the San Francisco Unified School District. Students will gather at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academic Middle School at 350 Girard St. at 11 a.m., before marching through the streets chanting social justice slogans. The march will be followed by lectures and workshops led by local community members.

The participating students are from four Bayview schools; MLK Jr. Middle School, ER Taylor Elementary, Willie Brown Jr. Middle School and Thurgood Marshall High School.
