SF renames street by Chase Center ‘Warriors Way’

San Francisco renamed the street by the Mission Bay Chase Center ‘Warriors Way’ Tuesday to honor the Golden State Warriors, who will start playing in the new arena next year.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the resolution changing “the name of South Street between Third Street and Terry A. Francois Boulevard in Mission Bay South to ‘Warriors Way,’ in recognition of the Golden State Warriors’ valued contributions to the City and County of San Francisco and the entire Bay Area region.”

The renaming of the street comes a month after The City lifted Mission Bay advertising restrictions for the arena to allow for a large-scale video screen on the west façade and an illuminated rooftop Chase Center logo.
