A man died at the hospital after being struck by a vehicle near San Francisco’s Lakeshore Plaza Tuesday morning, police said.

San Francisco resident Dmitry Scotkin, 69, was crossing in the crosswalk at Sloat Boulevard and 36th Avenue just after 10 a.m. when he was struck by a 59-year-old driver.

The driver remained at the scene.

Scotkin died from his injuries at 12:11 p.m. after he was transported to a hospital, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office.

An investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
