Scoop: Who will join Kelly Ripa on her ‘Live’ morning show?

The game is on: Who’s going to take Michael Strahan’s place when he leaves Kelly Ripa to be on ““Good Morning America”?

On Tuesday, ABC announced that the gap-toothed former NFL player will join the morning news show full time in September, giving up his gig as Ripa’s co-host on the syndicated “Live with Kelly and Michael.” (He replaced Regis Philbin in 2012.)

Names being tossed around include Anderson Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris. Jeff Probst. Ryan Seacrest, Snoop Dog and Chris Harrison.

Entertainment Weely’s Melissa Maerz — who comments “If Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have taught us anything, it’s that you don’t need a man to make the perfect duo” — rightly suggests the time has come for a female cohost, pointing to Kelly Osbourne, Zendaya, Audra MacDonald and “wild card” Gabourey Sidibe.

Sidibe has proven her stuff on talk shows. Conan O’Brien called her “the greatest guest ever.”

SAVING MOMS’ LIVES

Solange Madriz, a researcher from University of California San Francisco’s Global Health Sciences, appears in a new PBS series “Global Health Frontiers” at 7 p.m. Sunday on KQED Channel 9 in “Saving Lives at Birth,” a segment about work being done by PRONTO International on women’s health in remote areas of Guatemala.

“It is astounding to see that a simple and low-cost training program can save many mothers’ and babies’ lives. I am glad to have participated in a TV series to educate the public on global health issues such as maternal mortality,” Madriz says.
