Vaughniston is ready to make it official, or it’s over, depending on which gossip magazine you read.
According to Us Weekly, Vince Vaughn popped the question to his “Break-Up” co-star Jennifer Aniston on the couple’s jet ride home from a romantic nine-day Mexican vacation near the end of June.
“Vince almost cries whenever he tells the story of the proposal,” a blabby buddy told the magazine. “He was going to propose on the beach on the trip, but he chickened out because he wasn’t sure if she would accept. But he knew he was leaving town [to film ‘Into the Wild’ in South Dakota] for awhile, so he just felt he had to ask her before they landed.”
Aniston’s rep denied the story to E! Online, saying, “It is not true — they are not engaged.”
Meanwhile, according to Star magazine, Aniston is distancing herself from Vaughn, who hasn’t decided to take his yearlong relationship with Aniston to the next level, but instead offered the ex-Mrs. Brad Pitt a friendship ring. (Apparently, in this scenario, Vaughn and Aniston are still in junior high.)
“There have been rumors of an engagement, even claims they married in secret. But those stories are without foundation,” a source told the magazine. “After everything Jen has been through, she feels let down that Vince hasn’t yet — after all this time — made his mind up about her.”
Are they together or not? Are they engaged or not? So many questions … .
Lindsay Lohan admits that she’s a big, fat liar. Actually, make that a malnourished liar suffering from “dehydration” and “exhaustion.” We’re all about accuracy in Scoop!
“I say things that aren’t true a lot,” the “Prairie Home Companion” star fesses up in the new issue of Elle magazine. “If I was dating one person, [I’d] probably tell them I was dating someone else and then I’d call my friend and be like, ‘Do you mind if I say that we’re dating?’ I figure I’ll [bleep] with [the tabloids], because they [bleep] with me.”
For the record, Lohan has been romantically linked to (deep breath) Wilmer Valderama, Bruce Willis, ColinFarrell, Jared Leto, Hard Rock heir Harry Morton, Aaron Carter, singer Jamie Burke, director Brett Ratner, Starvos Niachos, Ryan Adams, McFly drummer Harry Judd, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nick Cannon and Benicio Del Toro.
Hollywood’s quest to prove to everyone that it’s out of ideas continues.
Jessica Simpson has been offered the lead role in a remake of 1988’s “Working Girl,” which starred Melanie Griffith as Tess McGill, who had “a head for business and a bod for sin.”
“It is one of the scripts Jessica is considering,” a source told the New York Daily News.
Surely, Simpson will be disappointed when she learns “Working Girl” is not what she thinks, but instead a charming flick about a secretary trying to make it big in the business world.
Even celebrities go on bad dates.
Kirsten Dunst and an unidentified British suitor had a lovely Italian dinner at Pace in Los Angeles.
“She was flirty and laughing,” says the witness. “They shared chocolate cake and red wine for dessert,” an eyewitness told Us Weekly. “[But when the bill came] he said something about ‘no money’ and then she paid. She put her credit card down. It was awkward.”
Kirsten, you broke up with hunky Jake Gyllenhaal for this?
